Quinn announces D-Day

Pat Quinn has announced that D-Day for the bubble players to make this years roster will be Monday, September 28, when final cuts will be made.

This means that several players including Schremp and Pouliot will have one more chance to perform miracles in order for them to stay with the big club, when the Oil take on the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.

I am staying true to my previous comments by saying that Schremp will either need to be traded or waived as it is still obvious that he has no chance to earn a roster spot with the big club. Pouliot has been in the same boat as Schremp for a few years as well and will suffer the same demise. Neither guy has done much in the last few years and things did not change this year, sorry guys, but ya didn't step up when ya had the chance.

There have been a few guys that have shown us that there may be more depth in the organization than we thought. The biggest surprise this year, for me anyways, has been Ryan Stone. This guy has shown alot of skill and alot of heart during this camp. He will probably have to be sent down to the minors, just due to the numbers game, but this guy has a future with this club.

I am curious to see the moves or non-moves that Tambelini makes early in this campaign. Thats right I said early, I predict that one or more big move is going to be necessary in order for this club to compete in the very competative Western Conference. I predict we will see a move of some significance within the first 4 weeks of the season.

Good luck boys, I will be watching intently with my fellow Oil Freaks and wish you a successful 09/10 campaign.
